120 days of house arrest has been ordered for Kenneth Petty, the husband of Nicki Minaj, for violating probation terms by posting threatening videos on social media targeting Cardi B’s husband, Offset. The Central District of California issued the court order on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The court order cites Petty for making threatening comments towards a specific individual, subsequently leading to the house arrest ruling. The mention of the individual in the order pointed directly to rapper Offset, and the videos posted to social media on Sept. 16 contributed to the ruling.
One of the viral videos shows Petty and his entourage outside a New York City hotel where Offset was reportedly staying. Among various threatening comments, Petty can be heard saying, “Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral, pussy!”
Offset himself responded to the threats in a video posted on his social media, taking a dismissive tone and implying that Petty was financially unstable.
It is worth noting that Petty was previously served a three-year probation sentence in July 2022 for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California. His criminal history dates back to 1995 when he was convicted of first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, resulting in a four-year prison sentence in New York.
