Instead of following traditional proposal customs, Nigerian man Samuel Enyi, also known as DJ IREM$, decided to propose to his fiancé in an unconventional way. He took her on a flight in a single-engine airplane and surprised her with the proposal while in the sky.
DJ IREM$, also known as “Captain IREM$ the DJ,” hails from Ebonyi State, Nigeria, and pursued flight training in the United States where he obtained his pilot’s license. Despite his aviation pursuits, he maintained his passion for music and DJing. He also operates a successful licensed car dealership business called “Twin Cities Auto LLC” in Minnesota, dealing with luxury and basic cars in the United States and Nigeria.
After watching engagement videos of pilots on YouTube, DJ IREM$ noticed the absence of such experiences within the black community. To break the norm and showcase the romantic side of black men, he chose to propose in this distinctive manner, hoping to inspire others to share their own meaningful moments online for the benefit of future generations.
