The recent ruling by the Supreme Court on Nnamdi Kanu’s terrorism case has been rejected by his family. Emma Kanu, Nnamdi’s younger brother, expressed dismay at the court’s decision, stating that no family member is pleased with the verdict. He highlighted the legal proceedings that have taken place, including the Federal High Court’s lack of jurisdiction to try Nnamdi Kanu and the previous discharge and acquittal by the Appeal Court. Emma Kanu criticized the lack of due diligence in the case and pointed out that the judge acknowledged the illegal manner in which Nnamdi Kanu was brought back to Nigeria and the invasion of his house. Despite the acknowledgment of these illegal actions, the Supreme Court granted the appeal by the Federal Government, leading the case back to the Federal High Court Abuja. Emma Kanu expressed confusion over the situation and emphasized their unhappiness with the outcome, particularly regarding the remaining charges, which he claims are bailable offenses that Nnamdi Kanu did not commit.
