In the pursuit of participating in the rugby event of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, Nigeria will commence their journey on September 16th.

In the Africa qualifiers, the Black Stallions will compete against Kenya, Zambia, and Namibia in Zimbabwe.

Rugby Afrique released the tournament’s fixtures on Friday.

The qualifiers, spanning two days, will take place from September 16th to 17th, 2023.

On September 16th, Nigeria will face Kenya’s Shujas, followed by matches against Zambia and Namibia’s Welwitschias.

Earlier this year, Nigeria secured second place at the pre-Olympic qualifiers in Mauritius, where they were defeated by Algeria in the final.

The Black Stallions lost to Algeria 24-5 in the final, after defeating Ghana 24-7 in the opening match and achieving victories against Burundi (43-14) and Congo (43-0) in the pool stages.

Hoping to replicate their remarkable feat of qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland in 2014, under the leadership of Steve Lewis, Nigeria aims to secure a spot at the Olympics.
