Pastor Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, has commented on the death of Promise Ilerioluwa Aloba, a 27-year-old singer and rapper known as MohBad. Bakare stated that the deceased’s association with evil individuals and his actions led to his downfall.
During a sermon delivered to a congregation in Leicester, United Kingdom (UK), Bakare, who is also a politician, expressed his views.
Referring to the topic of ‘Harvest’, Bakare, a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), questioned the congregation, “How many of you know MohBad? The Nigerian artiste who died at 27? Moh Bad.
“When he was involved in drinking, smoking, and associating with evil men, he was unaware that the consequences of his actions would come so soon and that he would be cut down in the prime of his youth.
“I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is MohBad a good name? Moh Bad?”
In response to Bakare’s statement, Nollywood actress Tonto Dike cautioned him to focus on preaching the gospel and refrain from mentioning MohBad in his sermons.
She wrote: “Dear Pastor Tunde, when your colleagues are caught engaging in unholy sexual activities, we never hear your voice, you never speak or preach about them. But when it comes to the death of a young man who could be your son, you say ‘HE REAPED THE REWARDS OF HIS ACTIONS.’ What actions? Please keep the same level of concern for your corrupt colleagues as you displayed today.
“Preach your gospel and leave MohBad’s name out of your sermons. I don’t respect old age. I respect the wisdom you display at your age.”
