BIOGRAPHY
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu spent her childhood in Italy. At sixteen, she was itching to become an actress and, against the advice of her parents (her father was the actor Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu ), the young girl left to study comedy in Paris. After experience on the stage, she debuted on the big screen in 1983 in the comedy Surprise Party by Roger Vadim .
In 1985, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu landed her first major role (and an Oscar nomination for best supporting role) playing the distraught mother in Three Men and a Bassinet . The public success of Coline Serreau ‘s comedy benefits the actress who goes on, paradoxically, with a series of costume films such as Les Possédés ( Andrzej Wajda – 1988), Les Deux Fragonard ( Philippe Le Guay – 1989) and La Révolution French ( Robert Enrico , Richard T. Heffron – 1989).
In 1993, the actress made a successful return to comedy by playing the pregnant wife of Patrick Braoudé in Nine Months . Then confirmed in the genre with La Belle Verte , Hercules and Sherlock and The Way is Free , without this confining her exclusively to light themes, as evidenced by her performances in Jefferson in Paris or Vatel .
In 2003, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu reprized her role as Sylvia in 18 Years After , the sequel to Three Men and a Bassinet . She is also in the credits of Deux Frères , the adventure film by Jean-Jacques Annaud . After a few appearances here and there for minor roles, France 2 viewers discovered her in 2015 in Ten percent , the successful France 2 series about the hectic daily life of four actors’ agents. She plays the deceived wife of Mathias Barneville ( Thibault de Montalembert ).
The program’s popularity allowed her to be propelled into the spotlight and land the title role of Agathe Koltès . In this France 3 series, she is a police commander, whose new position in Brittany is an opportunity to reconnect with her commissioner daughter ( Hortense Gélinet ). The actress finally returned her badge to lend her features, from October 202, to the formidable Sylvie Grateau, Lily Collins ‘ boss inEmily in Paris . In this original Netflix creation signed by Darren Starr , she is the head of Savoir , a Parisian marketing agency, which only promotes luxury products. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu notably finds Arnaud Binard , her on-screen husband, with whom she has already collaborated on Agathe Koltès .
