Pop Smoke’s killing is reportedly being treated as a gang-related assault rather than a botched robbery. The 20-year-old rapper was fatally shot at a residence in Hollywood Hills around 4:30 am on Wednesday.

Initially, it was thought that Pop Smoke had been a victim of a home invasion robbery, as it occurred shortly after he shared his home address on social media. However, authorities have shifted their focus after reviewing surveillance footage from the property.

Insiders who viewed the CCTV recordings told TMZ that four individuals entered the $2.5 million home on Hercules Drive and subsequently left without taking anything after carrying out the crime.

The suspected shooter, according to TMZ, fled through the front door empty-handed. Both the shooter and his alleged accomplices remain at large as of Thursday morning.

During a press conference on Wednesday, LAPD Captain Steve Lurie stated that authorities were searching for between two and six suspects.
