According to former Arsenal defender William Gallas, he believes Mason Mount will face difficulties during the upcoming season at Manchester United.

Gallas also expressed confidence that Andre Onana, another summer signing for Manchester United, will adapt well.

Mount and Onana recently joined Man United from Chelsea and Inter Milan, respectively.

In Monday’s Premier League opener against Wolves, they both made their starting debut for Manchester United in a 1-0 victory under Erik ten Hag’s management.

Gallas believes that it will take time for Mount to acclimatize to Man United’s playing style.

“While it may be challenging for Chelsea fans to see Mason Mount in a Manchester United jersey, he will need to adjust to the United system, which won’t be an easy task,” Gallas shared with Genting Casino.

“I anticipate a difficult season for him.”

Gallas further remarked, “Erik ten Hag signed Onana because he wants his goalkeeper to perform in a manner similar to that of the last defender. He desires them to be composed with the ball at their feet and play like a defender.”

“I have observed the skills he possesses already, and though he will need to adapt to the new system, I am confident he will fare well.”
