A number of religious critics have taken to the comment section of gospel singer Rejoice Iwueze to criticize her for giving birth to her first child.
Rejoice, who was formerly a member of Destiny Kids, tied the knot in November and recently announced the arrival of her baby.
She shared the good news on her Instagram page on Sunday, along with photos from her maternity shoot.
In the announcement, she mentioned that she and her husband have transitioned from being a couple to being parents.
While celebrating the arrival of her newborn, Rejoice also expressed her belief that God can always be trusted. However, she did not disclose the gender of the baby.
Two religious critics took to the comment section to express their disapproval, as they believed Rejoice was already pregnant before getting married.
One critic, named Raymond Shola, wrote, “So you got married while pregnant, wow, my Christian sister.”
Another user commented, “This story isn’t clear. You were a month pregnant before your wedding. Congratulations to you, though.”
However, many people defended Rejoice, pointing out that it has been almost 10 months since she tied the knot.

Two months after the engagement, Rejoice tied the knot in a traditional ceremony.
In one of the clips from her Instagram story, she was seen tearfully kneeling before her father.
As part of the Igbo tradition, Rejoice knelt before her father, who then offered a can of malt (a substitute for palm wine) to her husband.
After the traditional wedding, Rejoice had a white wedding and shared photos from the event, expressing her pride in calling him her husband.
