BIOGRAPHY
Rob Minkoff is an American filmmaker, born on August 11, 1962, in Palo Alto, California. A fan of drawings, caricatures and comics, Rob studied at Palo Alto High School, before preparing at the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied in the animation department. In his final stage of school, he was hired, in the early 1980s, by Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he served as animation supervisor on films such as Police and Mice (1985) and The Brave Little Toaster (1987), among others. After some short films, Rob had his first opportunity in feature films, as co-director of the acclaimed animated film The Lion King (1994), which changed his career forever. In recent years, Minkoff has directed films such as The Adventures of Peabody and Sherman (2014) and The Samurai Dog: The Legend of Kakamucho (2022).
