In a recent analysis, Robbie Mustoe, a former Middlesbrough midfielder, has put forward Aston Villa’s Unai Emery as the perfect candidate to take over from Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, should the Dutchman vacate his position.

Speculations have circulated regarding Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford, accompanied by reports of discontent among some players, including Marcus Rashford, with Ten Hag’s tactics and training methods.
Mustoe, however, believes that Emery, who has steered Aston Villa to the third spot in the table, possesses the right attributes to succeed Ten Hag. Mustoe underlined Emery’s background of managing top-tier teams, including stints at Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, as a testament to his suitability for the role.
