After 17 years of marriage and raising three children, Celina and Joseph Quinones made a shocking revelation – they are actually cousins. This surprising discovery came to light when Celina, curious about her family history, decided to delve into her family tree and took a DNA test.
Sharing their story on TikTok under the handle @realestatemommas, Celina revealed the unexpected twist in their relationship. “Married my husband in 2006. Not thinking anything of it we had three kids. Come to find out we were related and cousins,” she wrote.
Following the revelation, their story gained widespread attention, drawing over four million views on TikTok. However, the public response wasn’t entirely supportive, with many expressing negative sentiments and suggesting that the couple should separate.
Despite the initial shock and the criticism they faced, Celina emphasized that their love has only grown stronger. She acknowledged that discovering her husband was her cousin was initially “devastating,” but their bond has endured. Disregarding the negative comments advocating for their separation, she affirmed, “I wouldn’t change it for the world… Cousband and wife for life! There is a reason why good couples look alike. I am just over here raising awareness.”
Reflecting on the incident, Celina shared, “This was three kids in that I found out we were related. I did my DNA test I think in 2016 and yeah it was devastating because I was like ‘babe we’re related are we even supposed to be together? This is weird’. It really freaked me out.” However, she expressed her contentment with their unique situation, stating, “I wouldn’t change it for the world… Cousband and wife for life! The couple has chosen to focus on their love and family, moving past the unexpected revelation. Celina affirmed, “My kids and my husband are my everything and we looked past it. All our kids have 10 fingers and 10 toes. It’s a good ice breaker lol.”
