Mikaela Spielberg, the adopted daughter of filmmaker Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw, has addressed the speculation surrounding her parents’ reaction to her career in the porn industry. She revealed that her parents were not “embarrassed” by her career choice and had actually anticipated it.
The 24-year-old dismissed the notion that her parents were ashamed of her, stating: “My parents – despite what people have written – aren’t embarrassed, they were actually kind of expecting it to be my career… some sort of outsider art… or taboo art because they’ve always known that I was a little bit neurotic.”
She emphasized that her parents have always been aware of her inclination to pursue unconventional paths in life, acknowledging her own neuroticism and determination to chart her own course, regardless of their approval.
She further explained: “So it kind of felt like a little bit of a relief. It was like they were preparing themselves to get the news for this and they’re not sad for me and my choice of career.”
Addressing the public’s sympathy towards her parents, Mikaela stated: “I’m not sad for them. People shouldn’t be sad for them. That’s the one big thing – people are like, ‘I feel sorry for your parents’. Nobody here is a victim.”
Mikaela’s boyfriend Chuck Pankow, 47, also expressed his support for her career decision, emphasizing that her happiness and safety were paramount. He shared a conversation they had about her choice, acknowledging her perspective and expressing his acceptance.
