AC Milan, Chukwueze’s Serie A club, requested the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the player to report late to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations camp. The NFF has granted this request.
The Super Eagles will commence their camp for the tournament in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, January 2nd.
All 25 players listed in the final squad by head coach Jose Peseiro are required to report to the camp on this date.
According to reputable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the NFF has approved AC Milan’s request for Chukwueze to be available for the Coppa Italia clash against Cagliari on January 2nd.
Consequently, Chukwueze will report to the Super Eagles camp a day later.
Di Marzio also mentioned that the Algerian Football Federation declined AC Milan’s request to retain midfielder Ismael Bennacer for the same game.
