Talisa Soto is an American actress well known as Princess Kitana in the fantasy action film Mortal Kombat released in 1995 and its sequel Mortal Kombat: Annihilation which came in 1997

She was born as Miriam Talisa Soto on the 27th day of March 1967 in Brooklyn, New York. She is the youngest of four children carried by her parents. When Talisa was still very young, her family moved from Puerto Rico to Northampton, Massachusetts, where she and her three older siblings were eventually raised and educated.

Soto who became well known as an actress first started her career as a model appearing in magazines such as Elle, Mademoiselle, Vogue, Glamour. Her modeling career began at the age of 15 when she signed up for Click Model Management modeling only during summer vacation. A few weeks after signing with Click, Talisa had the chance to travel to Paris where she was in a layout for Vogue. After the summer holidays, she returned to Northampton and continued her studies until she graduated from high school.

Talisa Soto later became a well-known model, appearing on the cover of reputable magazines like British Elle, American and British Vogue and other Self-magazines. She has also appeared in advertisements for companies like Revlon, Calvin Klein, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Cartier, Clarins and even for Saks Fifth Avenue. She also worked with late fashion designer and 80s London Buffalo Boy Look designer Ray Petri as a model with her former boyfriend – Nick Kamen

She landed her first film role in 1988 playing India in a comedy Pointe de Bensonhurst; which also starred Sasha Mitchell and Ernest Borgnine. The same year, she played Lupe Lamora in the James Bond film License to Kill.
