On a four-year deal, Harry Kane has completed a £100m move to Bayern Munich, concluding his remarkable stint at Tottenham.
An initial 100m euros (£86.4m) plus add-ons was paid by the England captain, who could potentially make his debut in the German Super Cup game against RB Leipzig this Saturday.
Leaving Premier League Spurs at 30, Kane is their all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.
“I’m very pleased to join Bayern, one of the world’s premier clubs, as I’ve always aspired to move and establish myself at the highest level of my career,” stated Kane.
“This club is known for its winning mentality, and it feels great to be here.”
In his farewell message to Tottenham, Kane expressed that it was the right time to depart but hinted at a potential return in the future.
He stated, “It’s saddening to leave the club where I’ve spent almost 20 years of my life, progressing from an 11-year-old boy to a 30-year-old man. There have been countless memorable moments and special memories that I will forever cherish.”
“And above all, thank you to the Tottenham fans. Since I started playing, I’ve considered myself as one of you and I’ve given my all to make you proud and create numerous memorable moments and memories that will hopefully endure forever.”
“I felt that this was the right time to depart. I didn’t want the upcoming season to be overshadowed by ongoing speculation about my future. I believe it’s crucial for the new manager and the players to focus on propelling Tottenham towards the top of the table and competing for trophies.”
“I wish Ange and the team the best of luck. Naturally, I will now be watching as a devoted fan, and I genuinely hope that the team achieves success.”
“This is a message to all the fans worldwide, every single Tottenham fan who has supported and stood by me throughout my journey.”
“My family and I will forever treasure it. We will never forget the moments we’ve shared together, so thank you. I’ll be following the season.
“Best of luck to Tottenham and the entire club. It’s not a farewell because the future is uncertain. Thank you, and see you soon.”
