The new head coach of the France U-21 team is set to be Thierry Henry, according to reports.

ESPN has stated that the French Football Federation (FFF) has chosen the 46-year-old over Sabri Lamouchi, Jocelyn Gourvennec, and Julien Stephan.

Prior to this appointment, Henry served as the assistant coach for Belgium during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

After France’s disappointing performance at the Euros this summer, where they were eliminated by Ukraine in the quarter-finals, Henry will replace Sylvain Rippoll.

Henry has faced challenges in his short coaching career, with unsuccessful terms at Monaco and Montreal.

It is believed that Henry agreed to a reduced salary for the U-21 role and is eager to lead the team to a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris next year.
