Despite initially pursuing a band during his freshmen year in high school, he eventually joined the school’s football team and became its wide receiver. Aside from his involvement in band and American Football, Brown also excelled as a track star during his high school years.
Although his high school team didn’t perform well, Brown’s talent caught the attention of various colleges, leading to heavy recruitment. He chose the University of Notre Dame in 1984 and earned the nickname “Touchdown Timmy” due to receiving accolades, including the Heisman Trophy in 1987 – the first wide receiver to win the award.
Following college, Brown was drafted to the NFL as the #6 pick by the Los Angeles Raiders, propelling him to fame and significantly increasing his net worth. During his sixteen years with the Raiders, he attained numerous achievements, including being selected to the Pro Bowl nine times, making the All-Conference team seven times, and winning the AFC Championship in 2002. He retired in 2004 after playing one year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, further solidifying his popularity and wealth.
