Actor Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey, the American actor, was identified as someone who “should never have been cancelled” by a prominent Hollywood executive, following the star’s acquittal on charges of sexually assaulting four men.

The double Oscar winner was cleared of sexually assaulting four men on Wednesday, July 26, concluding a highly publicized case in London in which he and all his accusers provided testimony.

Spacey faced allegations of using his influence and status to commit nine sexual assaults on four men during his time as the artistic director of the Old Vic theatre. However, he vehemently denied the accusations, labeling them as ‘madness’ and accusing the claimants of fabricating stories for monetary gain.

Following the high-profile trial, which included supportive evidence from Sir Elton John, supporters of The House of Cards star have rallied in his favor.

A top executive asserted that people jumped to conclusions due to the MeToo movement and that Spacey should be allowed to revive his career as he never deserved such swift removal without due process.

The executive voiced, ‘This is a man that never deserved to be removed so swiftly without any due process. There are people who were more interested in rushing to judgement than learning the actual truth. Kevin Spacey should now be able to resurrect his career. He should never have been cancelled.’

After the verdicts were announced, the US actor expressed gratitude to the jury, his legal team, and his loyal manager and longtime friend, Evan Lowenstein, for their unwavering support.

He stated, ‘I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process after what has just happened today. But I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts, carefully, before they reached their decision. I am humbled by the outcome today. I also want to thank the staff inside this courthouse, the security, my legal team, and Evan Lowenstein for being here every day.’

The allegations not only tarnished his successful showbiz career but also had significant financial repercussions, including being ordered to pay £25.5 million to the producers of House of Cards after his dismissal.

Moreover, he incurred at least £1 million in legal defense fees and experienced the humiliation of being removed from the Sir Ridley Scott film All The Money In The World. During the trial, Spacey admitted to the jury, ‘I’ve lost everything.’

Two of the men involved in the case are also pursuing civil suits against Spacey. Nonetheless, the verdict concludes the criminal proceedings against him, raising the possibility of a potential return to screens after being sidelined by Hollywood for the past six years.

His once-dazzling career suddenly vanished, resulting in his termination from the popular Netflix series House of Cards, as well as being edited out of the Sir Ridley Scott film All The Money In The World, and substantial financial losses.
