It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of one of the sons of the prominent Abacha family.

Abdullahi Abacha, the second youngest son of the late Nigerian military leader Sani Abacha, has passed away at the age of 36, as reported by Daily Nigerian.

According to family sources cited in the report, Abdullahi passed away peacefully at the family’s residence on Nelson Mandela Street in Abuja.

The source stated:

“He was in good health last night but was discovered to have passed away in his sleep this morning. He departed peacefully.”

The funeral prayer is scheduled to take place at the National Mosque in Abuja on Saturday, March 4, at 4 pm.

He was born in 1987 and is survived by eight siblings from the late military ruler.

A friend of the deceased, Captain Jamil Abubakar, expressed his condolences on Twitter, saying: “Innalillahi wainnailaihirraju’un. We just lost one of our course mate and friend, Abdullahi Sani Abacha. He was NMS97, our set; he was in Delta company. Condolences to his family, friends and coursemates.”

diq Abdulmumin also expressed his condolences, saying: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun! My heartiest sympathy goes to the family of Abacha. May the Almighty Allah give you the fortitude to bear this great loss. May Allah s.w.t. grant ABDULLAHI SANI ABACHA Jannatul-Firdaus and forgive his sins. Amin ya Hayyu ya Qayyum.”
