Emphasizing the significance of their role in shaping FERMA’s mandate, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, has urged the members of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) board to exhibit patriotism and commitment in their duties.
During the inauguration of the agency’s sixth Governing Board in Abuja, Umahi advised the board members to ensure the enhancement of the condition of federal roads nationwide.
It was disclosed that President Bola Tinubu had approved a supplementary budget for 236 road projects aimed at palliative intervention.
Furthermore, the minister assured the public of a significant improvement in road conditions over the next two years, while congratulating the newly appointed board members on their selection.
In his four-year tenure, the Managing Director/CEO of FERMA, Chukwuemeka Agbasi, expressed a vision for a noticeable improvement in road conditions, reduced operating costs, and enhanced socio-economic conditions for road users.
