In the simplest of descriptions, Valentina Shevchenko is a professional kicker. She has been interested in combat sports since childhood and has become one of the most influential fighters of her time. Shevchenko fights as a Muay Thai kickboxer, mixed martial artist and boxer. Since her surname has already given way, Valentina,Valentina Anatolievna Shevchenko was born on March 7, 1988 in the former USSR Frunze. Kyrgyzstan is of Ukrainian descent. His surname is one of the most popular in the country. Valentina and her family had to flee Ukraine because of the Communist Stalinist regime – Ukraine is now an independent country. Shevchenko, however, has dual Kyrgyz and Peruvian nationality. She had settled in Peru with her sister and still lives in the national capital, Lima.
Shevchenko’s passion for fighting began when she was just a little girl. By age 5 she was already training in taekwondo and about 7 years later branched out into kickboxing Muay Thai before taking up freestyle Vale Tudo. The Valentina star was shining bright before she even hit her teens. When she was 12, she knocked out a 22-year-old opponent.
Pavel Fedotov, her long-time trainer, named her Bullet because of her fighting style which is mostly known as counter-striking. Valentina mastered the technique of dodging her opponent’s strike, to retaliate with high speed and intensity, hence the nickname Bullet. Over the years, Valentina has had an incredible career as a kickboxer and has been named one of the best female Muay Thai fighters in the world.
As a Muay Thai fighter she beat many future UFC Joanna Jędrzejczyk whom she beat three times and Lina Länsberg. Valentina won 8 gold medals at the IFMA World Championships from 2003 to 2015. In professional kickboxing, she only lost one match against Wang Cong in 2015.
After Shevchenko left Muay Thai, she focused on mixed martial arts and joined the UFC in 2016. She has been recording amazing stats since her debut.
Valentina Shevchenko holds a BA in Filmmaking from Kyrgyzstan University of Arts. When she’s done beating people up, Shevchenko could turn to the film side of her life. She is fluent in Spanish and Russian.

Valentina therefore grew up under the influence of the two most important women in her life. Antonina, born November 20, 1984, is also a UFC fighter. She made her MMA debut in 2002 but took a 12-year hiatus before returning in 2017. Like Valentina, Antonina was trained by Pavel Fedotov and both are vying for the Southpaw position.
