His breakthrough came with a supporting role in Michael Mann’s made-for-television sports drama “The Jericho Mile” (1979), following which he gained prominence and subsequently joined the cast of “Magnum P.I.” from 1980 to 1988, portraying helicopter pilot Theodore ‘TC’ Calvin.

Following the conclusion of “Magnum P.I.”, Roger continued to secure prominent roles in films such as “Unlawful Entry” (1992) and “Letters from a Killer” (1998), along with TV series like “Rude Awakening” (1999-2000) until his retirement from acting.

Since 1974, Roger has been the founder of the Watts Repertory Company.

Privately, Roger has three children, two from his ex-wife Saundra Locke and a daughter with Toni Laudermick, his partner since 1976.

Aside from his acting career, he is also a licensed helicopter pilot and enjoys playing golf. He shares a particular hobby with his friend O. J. Simpson.
