God Of War Ragnarok Wiki
God of War Ragnarok is a popular action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is the ninth game in the God of War series and the sequel to the 2018 God of War. The game is based loosely on Norse mythology and is set in ancient Scandinavia, where players control Kratos and his teenage son, Atreus. The game covers the eschatological event of Ragnarök, which was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Aesir god Baldur. Players can expect similar gameplay to the 2018 installment, including combo-based combat, puzzles, and RPG elements. The game features revamped gameplay, with new weapons and abilities for Kratos and Atreus. The game was initially scheduled for a 2021 release but was delayed due to various reasons, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

In God of War Ragnarok, experience gained from combat encounters and quests is not used to measure Kratos' overall level. Instead, it is used as currency to unlock skills in the skill tree and upgrade abilities like Runic Attacks and Spartan Rage. To measure Kratos' overall power level, players must upgrade their weapons and equipment, such as armor and weapon attachments. The Blades of Chaos, Kratos' main weapon, starts at level 1 after the first battle in the prologue, and players must find unique resources, like a Chaos Flame or Chaos Sparks, to upgrade it. A Chaos Flame or six Chaos Sparks will be required to reach the level 6 upgrade.
