Yvette “Yve” Arellano, known for her appearance on 90 Day Fiance, has been charged with battery and assault by the Albuquerque police. This occurred just days before the airing of the cast reunion on Sunday.
The episode included an update revealing that her husband, Mohamed Abdelhamed, had been unfaithful to her through text messages. Yve’s representative denied accusations that she had been arrested or that she had been abusive toward Mohamed.
Hours after the episode aired, it was reported by PEOPLE
Yve’s representative, Dominique Enchinton, dismissed the allegations as “falsified” by Mohammed, describing them as “just a ploy to keep him in the U.S.” Enchinton informed PEOPLE
Throughout the majority of the tell-all episode, Mohamed and Yve appeared to be a contented couple after experiencing various highs and lows during the season. Mohamed relocated from Egypt to New Mexico to marry Yve, where he gradually adapted to American culture. He came to accept that Yve could dress as she pleased and that she wouldn’t convert to Islam, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
This idyllic image was shattered by a surprising revelation. Leaked text messages apparently showed Mohamed communicating with another woman. He admitted to engaging in conversations with her after meeting online, describing her as “very nice,” and claiming they started out as “friends.” Mohamed asserted that he had asked the woman to stop texting him, expressing his continued love for his wife.
Screenshots of the messages emerged on social media. In one exchange, Mohamed tells the woman that he will “go to the attorney right after I get the green card.” In a more flirtatious message, he informs her, “I would just keep you in bed for days.” Following his claim that it was a joke, the woman replied, “No, please be for real.”
“I texted these women and told them, ‘I am a married man. Please stop texting me,'” Mohamed revealed to the TLC cameras. “I know I did wrong. I told the same story to my wife and promised her that will never happen again. I do love Yve, and she doesn’t deserve that.”
Yve mentioned to the cameras that she had witnessed “inappropriate” pictures and calls between her husband and the woman. “You know, it’s very shocking, raw, disappointing, saddening, he spent his time focused on starting other relationships, engaging in activity a married man should not be engaging in,” she expressed.
On Monday, Yve expressed gratitude to fans for their support and for sharing their own experiences with “infidelity, heartaches & pain” on her Instagram Story. She continued, “Obviously, we are not alone. Why commitment for some isn’t a commitment. There’s lots of healing that needs to happen in this world on so many levels. If you don’t want to be exclusive just say so, so people can make their own informed decision.”
In his own Instagram Story post, Mohamed stated that he aimed to end his relationship with Yve in a respectful manner. “A lot of people asking, why I’m not saying my part of the story, that’s because I was trying my best to end my relationship with respect, that’s all,” he wrote.
Yve and Mohamed encountered several challenges during their time on 90 Days, including their 23-year age gap and cultural disparities. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Yve disclosed that she had an issue with Mohamed’s inconsistencies, such as strictly adhering to his religion while still being intimate with her before their marriage. “I think that you have to fully accept that either maybe it’s a learning thing or growing thing, but yes, it does kind of set off a red flag in that are you using your religion to kind of execute something or is that just controlling?” Yve expressed. “So that does bother me.”
