The passing of Veteran Nollywood actor Dejumo Lewis, aged 80, has left the Yoruba industry in mourning. Known for his roles in various movies, including “A Place in the Stars”, ‘Crossroads’, and ‘Power of 1’, he is especially remembered for his portrayal of the Kabiyesi role in ‘The Village Headmaster’. His colleague, Saidi Balogun confirmed his demise through an Instagram post and bid him goodbye with a prayer for his soul to rest in peace.
While the cause of his death remains unknown, many actors have taken to social media to express their grief. Months prior, the Yoruba Nollywood industry experienced the loss of Sunday Ossai, followed by the passing of Akeem Alamutu and Yemi Adeyemi, known as ‘Suara’. Actress Sidikat Odukanwi, popularly known as Iyabo Oko, and Murphy Afolabi were also mourned following their untimely deaths. Each loss has been deeply felt by the Nollywood community.
