California's attorney general is suing a well-known car dealership that also operates here in Reno.
The lawsuit comes after a two-year investigation and accuses the company of false advertisement as well as lying on loan documents to boost its profits at the expense of its customers.
"It might be called Paul Blanco's Good Car Company, but for many families that name could not be farther from the truth,” says Xavier Becerra, California Attorney General.
The lawsuit charges Paul Blanco with making false statements on credit applications, including by deceiving lenders about the value of vehicles and the consumer’s ability to repay the loans.
The Sacramento Bee reports that a company representative denies the allegation and vows to fight the lawsuit.
Paul Blanco has eight dealerships in California and two in Nevada, including a Las Vegas location.
