He was born Colin Murray Cowherd on January 6, 1964, in Aberdeen, Washington. Nevertheless, it was in Grayland, Washington, where he was raised by his single mother alongside his sister, after his alcoholic father divorced, when Colin and his older sister were still children. His father’s alcoholism was prompted by his parents’ divorce.

His departure allowed him to sign a contract that would see him stay with Fox Sports for the next 4 years. He continues to host The Herd on the station and Kristine Leahy joined as a co-host before he left in 2018.
