Tragic Incident: Boat Capsizes, Resulting in the Deaths of Four Rice Farmers in Nasarawa

A tragic incident occurred when a boat capsized on a river in Hunki village, Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, resulting in the deaths of four young rice farmers.

The victims, who were from Ubbe district of Nasarawa Eggon, were crossing the river at Hunki village from their rice farm on the evening of November 6, 2023.

The individuals have been identified as Alkali Congo, Shedrack Dauda, Mashack Dauda, and Akolo Moses.

The state Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed that the farmers were returning from the farm when the incident occurred.

Local divers have recovered four corpses, and efforts are underway to rescue the missing boat driver or recover his body.
