Commencing from Saturday, January 14 to Tuesday, February 14, 2023, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will open registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as announced in a statement issued on Tuesday, December 20.
JAMB’s Head of Media and Information, Mr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed the major dates for the board’s activities in 2023 at the conclusion of its management meeting held in Abuja. According to him, Direct Entry registration will begin from Monday, 20th February to Thursday, 20th April 2023.
Mr. Fabian Benjamin, the head of public affairs and protocol at JAMB, revealed that the board’s management approved several key dates, including the commencement of 2023 UTME registration, which will take place from Saturday, 14 January 2023, to Tuesday, 14th February 2023.
Furthermore, the computer-based UTME test is scheduled to be conducted between Saturday, 29th April 2023, and Monday, 12th May 2023, with the optional mock UTME set for Thursday, 16th March 2023. Notably, the registration for Direct Entry (DE) candidates will be open from Monday, 20th February to Thursday, 20th April 2023.
JAMB has modified the conduct of the mock UTME, with candidates now required to pay N1,000 during registration to mitigate potential losses for CBT centers in case candidates fail to participate in the mock exams.
“Candidates are to note that they would be required to pay the sum of N1000 service charge for CBT centers for the conduct of mock examination at the point of registration to prevent a situation where candidates would indicate their interest to sit the mock-UTME leading the various centers to commit human and material resources only for them to stay away on the day of the examination,” Mr. Fabian Benjamin explained.
He further advised prospective UTME candidates to start creating their profiles (creation of profile code) ahead of the formal registration to facilitate a smooth process and prevent any potential hurdles.
