Julie Hampton met Kirk Cousins through a. KennenKirk, a mutual friend, popped the question on November 22, 2013 after dating for a year and a half. When the proposal took place on the balcony in the Capitol building, it became well known in all media. You may have read about it then, but if you didn’t, that’s all there is to it.
According to Kirk, he was about to propose to Julie Hampton on the balcony of the Speaker’s office. He had been there before and thought it would be great to ask the question there. With that in mind, he spoke to fellow US Congressman Bill Huizenga, whom he had met a little, from his West Michigan home to see if it would work, and luckily they found a tag that did. Huizenga’s assistants also agreed to be on hand to capture the moment.
On D-Day, Kirk’s cousins told his then-girlfriend Julie Hampton that they were touring the Capitol, following him downtown, unaware of her husband’s intentions. As their car approached the Capitol, Kirk was so nervous that his hands became cold and sweaty and from holding Juli’s hand, she felt the cold sweat.As they walked through the building and to the balcony, Kirk talked about the view, how they met in this town, and how they had fond memories walking around town on some previous dates. Before Julie could smell what was to come with the speech, her boyfriend got on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes, of course, and prompted Kirk to slip a white gold round solitaire diamond onto her finger.
About seven months later, on June 28, 2014 to be precise, the couple married in Julie’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

Three years and a few months after her marriage to the NFL player, Julie Hampton gave birth to a son named Cooper Cousins. While waiting for his arrival, Julie and her husband had fun with the pregnancy.
Not only did they announce that they were expecting their dog, whose sign read, “Mom and Dad are having a human”, their gender statement was also exciting.
Kirk’s cousin, sharing the news of her baby’s gender, threw a baseball at a brown box with a big question mark on it. As soon as the ball hit the box, a cloud of blue dust shot out, meaning they were going to have a boy. In addition to Kirk, Julie and her dog Bentley were present, neither of whom could hide their excitement.
Baby Cooper was finally born on September 29, 2017. He was eleven days late and weighed just over 9 pounds.
