He was born on April 2 , 1981, North Dakota in a city in Punjab called Amritsar. He went to Dav Public School before attending Khalsa College in Amritsar, Punjab. Kapil’s first foray into entertainment came when he won the ‘Big Indian Laugh’ in 2007 and also competed in Sony’s Comedy Circus, where he became a series champion who won the show for six years. consecutive seasons.
Kapil has also been the host of many shows which includes a reality TV show named “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” and also a comedy show “Chhote Miyan” to name a few. In 2013, he started his own show called “Comedy Nights with Kapil”. Kapil was honored when he received Indian of the Year in the entertainment category from longtime actor Amol Palekar at CNN-IBN’s Indian of the Year Awards in 2013.
Apart from being a comedian, Kapil is also an actor and made his Bollywood debut in the film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon where he was the lead actor The film was a romantic comedy which was released on 25 th September 2015 at a barrage of mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Kapil Show Comic Evenings with Kapil ended when he signed a contract with Sony TV for a new show called The Kapil Sharma Show which first aired on 23rd April 2016 and received a wide range of responses positive from viewers and critics.
One of Kapil’s interests is animal welfare, he’s in a PETA campaign to raise awareness about adopting homeless cats. In July 2014, he himself adopted a retired, homeless police dog. He lent his voice to the campaign to save endangered elephants in his home country.
He is currently working on two new films which he signed in December 2016. He made his second Bollywood appearance in the film Firangi which was released on 1 st of December 2017 which was directed and produced by Rajiev Dhingra. Firangi Movie is a historical drama film shot in 1920. He recently showed his more family side in his new show called Family Time with Kapil Sharma which was launched on March 25th , 2018.

Family
Her father, Jeetendra Kumar, was a policeman and Punjab police chief while her mother, Janak Rani, was a full-time housewife. Her father died in 2004 after battling cancer. He was diagnosed in 1997, he died at AIIMS in Delhi.
He has two other siblings, his brother Ashok Kumar Sharma, who followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a police officer and whose sister is Pooja Pawan Devgan.
