Hollywood power couple, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West, have reportedly issued a ‘cease and desist’ letter to their former bodyguard Steve Stanulis, warning him of a potential lawsuit if he continues to make statements about the couple in the media.
According to TMZ, the Wests’ ‘cease and desist letter’ alleges that Stanulis violated the confidentiality agreement he signed with the couple after making explosive claims about Kanye West last month. He claimed that the rapper insisted on him standing yards away while protecting him.
In a podcast last month, Stanulis also alleged that Kanye had a meltdown on his first day of work. He described Kanye as ‘one of my least favorite people to work with over the course of time.’
Documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Kim, 39, and Kanye, 42, terminated Stanulis’ employment in 2016. However, Stanulis had signed an agreement in February 2016 prohibiting him from discussing any personal or business-related information about Kim and Kanye. Kanye had previously warned Stanulis in 2016 to refrain from discussing him or his family.
Stanulis’ publicist, Zack Teperman, has denied that his client breached the confidentiality agreement by discussing Kanye West last month.
When speaking to TMZ, Zack Teperman stated, ‘My client participated in a podcast to promote his new film, and old stories that were already out there were brought up.’
‘For Kanye and Kim’s counsel to send out a threatening letter to intimidate my client against his rights is unwarranted. My client has already made it clear that he respects Kanye and their time working together.’
‘If Kanye and Kim wish to pursue this further, that is up to them, but I believe their time and money would be better utilized in contributing to more pressing matters in our society than what happened many years ago.’
