BIOGRAPHY
As a teenager, Maruschka Detmers left her native Holland to settle in France. Working as an au pair, she landed a leading role in First Name Carmen by Jean-Luc Godard , Golden Lion in Venice in 1983. Not afraid to appear naked on screen, she once again demonstrated her great sensuality in films as diverse as La Vengeance du serpent à plumes (1984), a successful comedy that she performed alongside Coluche , La Pirate (1985) by Jacques Doillon and Le Diable au corps (1986) by Marco Bellocchio . This sulphurous adaptation of the famous novel by Raymond Radiguet will cause a stir because of an unsimulated fellatio scene. The actress defended herself at the time by explaining that she likes to play strong and extreme roles.

At the end of the 80s, the beauty began an international career, filming both in Italy ( Y’a bon les Blancs , 1988), in the United States ( Hanna’s War , The Mambo Kings , Franc-tireur where she partners Dolph Lundgren ) and in France ( Deux , 1989). She is also noticed by renowned filmmakers who sometimes offer her some of her finest roles, such as Daniel Vigne with Comédie d’été (1989) or Eric Barbier with Le Brasier (1990). Even if some of the films in which she appears are not very successful ( They Never Forget , Rewind , Te Quiero ), it is clear that her charm is still as effective as ever.

In the 2000s, Maruschka Detmers devoted herself mainly to the small screen, appearing in a few TV films such as Mata Hari, the real story (2003), My son this stranger (2004) or the adaptation of Balzac ‘s novel Le Père Goriot (id.). We also see her opposite François Berléand in the play L’Arbre de joie in 2007. But she is very discreet in the cinema. His last appearance dates back to Nos 18 ans , a teenage comedy released during the summer of 2008.
