BIOGRAPHY
Peter Bogdanovich is an American director, screenwriter, actor and producer, born on July 30, 1939, in Kingston, New York. A graduate of the Stella Adler Conservatory, he worked for a few years as an actor, before starting as a film programmer at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Shortly after, he was a film critic for the publication Cahiers du Cinéma, later following the example of filmmakers like Truffatu, Godard and Chabrol and beginning to produce and direct his own films. His first job was with producer Roger Corman, on the film Targets (1968) and, years later, he would begin to be recognized after his work on The Last Picture Show (1971), for which he earned a nomination for best director. , at the Academy Awards. His career grew rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s, thanks to productions such as Paper Moon (1973), Magnificent Jack (1979), A Romance in New York (1981), Texasville (1990), among others. The director also directed the films The Cat’s Meow (2001), Tangles on Broadway (2014) and the documentary The Great Buster (2014). In 2010 he had a guest starring role in the comedy series, How I Met You Mother?
