Terry Fontenot, who joined the Saints in 2003, was single at the time. He began his career as an NFL scout and later became the director of pro scouting. In 2020, he was promoted to deputy general manager and vice president of professional people. By this time, Terry and Tanya had four children, with the youngest being born during the pandemic. Terry took over from Thomas Dimitroff, who was fired along with coach Dan Quinn. Recently, Terry introduced the Falcons’ new head coach, Raheem Morris, with the two promising a good relationship.
The Story of Tanya Fontenot, Terry’s Wife
Terry Fontenot knew he would marry Tanya Fontenot (née Prudhome) when he first met her in 1997. Tanya was a freshman cheerleader at LaGrange High School, while Terry was playing football as a sophomore. According to Terry, their first conversation occurred as he and his friends were preparing to go to a football game. Terry’s gaze landed on Tanya, and he immediately began doing additional pushups.
Their paths crossed again at Taco Bell, where Terry sought his friends’ help to distract Tanya’s friends so he could chat with her. Tanya admitted in their joint interview that she was initially not interested in Terry. However, she later realized that he was a lovely person and would make an excellent spouse. Both raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Terry and Tanya became a football couple.
Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Laura, the couple featured in an ESPN piece. Tanya’s parents, Mike and Josetta Prudhome, live near Lake Charles and were affected by the aftermath. Their family house was devastated, which Tanya and her four children witnessed during a visit to mourn her grandpa.
In 2021, the couple expressed their intention to help the town where they grew up in an ESPN story. Tanya is active on Facebook, where she has shared a few family images.

Terry Fontenot introduced his children in a video shortly after becoming the Falcons’ general manager. The video included his three older children, with sounds of his wife and another child in the background. Terry shared that it was tough for his older children to leave Louisiana as they were dedicated fans of the New Orleans Saints. When Terry started his career in Louisiana, he was not married. Their first child, a daughter, seemed interested in cheering, similar to her mother. Tanya has shared pictures of her daughter participating in cheering contests.
Their son Kaiden appears to be interested in football, as seen when he wore the same outfit as his father during draft night in 2022. Their third child, Landree Marie, was born in 2019, and the family celebrated with a gender reveal ceremony. In 2020, they welcomed their youngest addition, a baby girl.
