Uche Ogbodo has stood by her criticism of a man who demanded that a young woman should be jailed for threatening to falsely accuse him of rape.
An Instagram user posted a video of an 18-year-old woman apologizing for her threat to accuse him of rape after he claimed she owed him money. The woman, in turn, stated that he had repeatedly invited her to his house and she had jokingly made the statement. She also apologized in a video to the man.
Subsequently, the man shared the video of her apology on social media and threatened to take action against her. He made her personal information public and called her derogatory names.
He further reported the issue to the police, but later criticized them for not taking any action.
The incident sparked debates, with opinions divided on whether the woman should be jailed for her false accusation threat. Uche Ogbodo, in a comment on Linda Ikeji’s Blog Instagram account, expressedthat the woman should not be jailed, calling the man vindictive.
Following the controversy, Uche released a video explaining her stance, stating that while she does not condone rape or those who support it, she believes the woman’s threat is unacceptable. She highlighted that the woman did not follow through with the threat and issued an apology. Uche criticized the man for his insistence on the woman being jailed, emphasizing that she has not accused him of rape, and he is being vindictive.
