If you are a movie geek and have been following the TV series titled The Last Kingdom, you must have noticed the charming actor Alexander Dreymon who portrayed Uhtred von Bebbanburg.
Aside from Dreymon’s excellent acting skills, he has a flair for languages and as such he is fluent in three languages - English, German and French; thanks to his upbringing in countries such as the United States, France and Switzerland, which contributed to his mastery of languages.
Though his parents reportedly wanted him to pursue his medical career, his love and artistry compelled him to choose a career in the entertainment industry. Today, his career choice has really paid off. Below is his story.
Who is Alexander Dreymon?
The beautiful blue-eyed Alexander Dreymon was born and named Alexander Doetsch on February 7, 1983 in Germany. He had the privilege of traveling to many countries as a young boy as his mother lived professionally in the USA, France and Switzerland. When his mother traveled to France to look after her sister who was involved in a horse riding accident, Alexander stayed with her during the trip and spent much time in the countryside. He initially lived in San Francisco, California, before settling in South Dakota.
The actor hasn’t spoken much about his father, although sources indicate they never had a hostile relationship.
Regarding his education, Alexander Dreymon, went to school in France and was directed by his parents to pursue a medical career. However, when he discovered his talent for acting, he went to the London Drama Center where he trained in the craft for three years. His acting career began with plays in theaters in London and Paris. In all the roles assigned to him, the German-born actor has slayed it all to the admiration of his admirers, peers and filmmakers. Alexander Dreymon’s fine acting skills earned him his first appearance in a French drama entitled Ni reprise, ni échangée . After his portrayal of Caspar in British film, his meteoric career grew like wildfire. Christopher and His Kind which was released in 2011.
In the same year he starred in three more films: as Bruce in Sotto il Vestito Niente – L’ultima Sfilata , Shape Shifter in Who’s Watching Who and Steiner in Resistance. In 2013, Dreymon landed a role in American Horror Story: Coven where he played Luke Ramsey. It was followed in 2014 by a film titled Blood’s Ransom .
2015 came and Alexander Dreymon landed a role in the British historical TV series The Last Kingdom , as Uhtred von Bebbanburg. The series has concluded its third season and has been renewed by Netflix for a fourth season. Other works he has been involved in are: The Test of Time (2015), Boys Reading Poems (2016) and Heart Lock (2018).
Is Alexander Dreymon gay?
In his career to date, Alexander has been able to perform well for the roles assigned to him, including gay roles. His portrayal of Casper in the British film Christopher and His Kind projected him as gay. This probably fueled the rumor that Alexander is gay in real life. However, the handsome actor has remained silent about his sexuality. Until something concrete is heard, it remains a rumor.
Who is his wife, girlfriend or partner?
Alexander Dreymon has no wife yet. Though he’s sensitive about revealing every part of his love life, in 2010 he was linked to a Greek actress named Tonia Sotiropoulou, who played the Bond girl in the 2012 film titled Falling From Heaven . Their love journey lasted about two years and ended in 2012. Recently, no one has been linked with the actor. We checked out his Instagram page and didn’t discover anything concrete about his love life.
