BACCARA and “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie” singer Maria Mendiola has died aged 69.
A post on the band’s official Instagram confirmed her death today calling her “a wonderful artist”.

Fans were left heartbroken by the news and many paid tribute to the artist.
One said: “RIP beautiful lady.”
Another wrote: “Rest in peace Maria dear. You’ll never be forgotten.”
One more person wrote: “”We will always remember you, you beautiful soul.”
And another said: “Rest in peace Maria.”
The song Yes Sir, I Can Boogie was adopted by the Tartan Army as the Scotland National team progressed into Euro 2020 back in the summer.
Maria and bandmate Mayte Mateos scored a worldwide No1 with their tune in 1977.
She said: “After so many years without a song in the charts, it’s hard to put into words how I feel.
“I never thought I’d be in the charts again. I am not young any more but I guess it shows I can still boogie.
“The Scotland team has reminded people we exist, which is very nice.”
