How to Obtain the First Memory in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?
To get Memory 1 in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, embark on the crucial quest “Recovering the Hero’s Sword,” which involves obtaining the Master Sword. While the game may not provide explicit clues, players familiar with Breath of the Wild can start at Korok Forest. Approach Korok Forest through the Depths near the Lost Woods entrance.
Locate a small chasm near the Lost Woods entrance and navigate through it to reach the Depths. Be prepared to face lurking enemies and Gloom as you progress. Watch out for a Gloom Spawn near your destination, and if confident, engage in battle. Defeating a Gloom Spawn triggers a confrontation with a version of Phantom Ganon.
If you wish to skip the fight, proceed to an underground structure aligned with Korok Forest. Use your Ascend ability to reach Korok Forest, now covered in Gloom. Enter the Great Deku Tree to find another chasm leading to a lower area.
In the lower area, encounter another Gloom Spawn and subsequently another Phantom Ganon. Defeating this Phantom Ganon unlocks Memory 1 in Tears of the Kingdom. Dodge his attacks, keeping a safe distance as he spreads Gloom. Use Flurry Rush with Perfect Dodges for significant damage. With perseverance, defeat him, return to the surface, and speak to the Great Deku Tree.
Upon conversing, the Great Deku Tree will ask about the Master Sword’s whereabouts. This triggers Memory 1, showing Zelda and Link arriving at Korok Forest to retrieve the Master Sword. The Great Deku Tree will mark the Master Sword’s location on your map, hinting it can be found on the Light Dragon.
