Cooper Kupp is an American football player whose professional career began after being selected by the Los Angeles Rams during the 2017 National Football League (NFL) draft.

His father, Craig, and grandfather, Jake, were also NFL players who entered the league as the 135th and 116th overall picks, respectively, while Cooper made it into the prestigious professional body as the 69th overall pick, continuing the family legacy.

Cooper Kupp’s Bio (Age)

Cooper Kupp, given the middle name Douglas, was born on June 15, 1993 in Yakima, Washington. He attended Davis High School where he played football and basketball and excelled in both sports. By the time he graduated in 2012, he had made 110 catches for 2,100 yards and also received letters in basketball for three years.

Moving on, he enrolled at Eastern Washington University and signed to play college football for the Eastern Washington Eagles football team. He finished his career there with a record 6,464 careers (highest in FCS history) and 73 touchdowns (first in FCS history).

His NFL career

At the end of his collegiate career, Cooperim played the 2017 Senior Bowl and ran so well that his draft stock went up. He then attended this year’s NFL Scouting Combine and completed all exercises except the bench press.

The young star was later selected by the Angeles Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft as the 69th overall pick. The seventh recipient to be selected that year, he became the second-highest recipient in Eastern Washington School history, behind Michael Roos. The team eventually signed a four-year, $3.83 million deal that included a $954,760 signing bonus.

After competing with six of his teammates for the Cooper Kupp won the role of wide receiver when he was named fourth wide receiver on the depth chart by the head coach. He made his professional regular season debut in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. Cooper played 15 games in his rookie season, starting with 6. He ended the season with 62 receptions for 869 yards and five touchdowns.

He played his first career playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons on January 6, 2018, recording 8 receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. In the fifth week of the year’s regular season, the wide receiver sustained a knee injury in the game against the Denver Broncos. Despite being carried off the pitch, he returned in the third quarter but missed two games and returned to action in Week 9. The following week, however, the season ended prematurely for him after a crusade at the top ligament injury.

family

Cooper Kupp is the eldest of Karin and CraigKupp’s four children. Coming from a family of professional football players, he is the third generation of Kupp to be elected to the National Football League. His father, a former NFL quarterback, was selected in the fifth round of the 1990 draft by the New York Giants after playing college football for Pacific Lutheran University. He also played for the Phoenix Cardinals football franchise and the Dallas Cowboys in 1991.

His grandfather Jake Kupp also made it to the NFL in 1964. He was picked as a close finish in the ninth round of that year’s draft by the Dallas Cowboys but was later converted to an offensive guard. He went on to play for other professional teams including the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. With the Saints, he served as captain and became part of the 25-year all-time team before being finally inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991.

With the selection of Cooper in the 2017 draft, the Kupps became the fifth three-generation family in the NFL behind the Higgins-Suhey, Pyne, Matthews and Chickillo pedigrees. Cooper’s younger brother, Ketner, also follows close behind. He is a linebacker at Eastern Washington University and will be in the 2019 NFL draft.

The Kupps have had the joys and trials of life at different times like any family, but what binds them together is a dedication to one another, a love of athletics and, most importantly, a belief in God. “It’s part of who we are,” Cooper’s father explains, adding that her relationship with Jesus is central to her life.

Wife

Cooper Kupp is married to Anna Kupp, born Anna Marie Croskrey on March 22, 1994 in Kennewick, Washington. Anna is the daughter of Nathan and Veronica Croskrey and has three siblings named Matthew, Aaron and Sarah.

She was a student at Richland High School in Richland, Washington, and after graduating in 2012, she went to Eastern Washington University to major in Public Relations. The couple met through sports; This is not surprising since Anna was in track and field and Cooper was on the Eastern University Eagles football team at the time.

The soccer player got engaged to his sweetheart in spring 2014 and by June 20, 2015 they had their wedding. Cooper opened up on their wedding day about how he knew Anna was the one for him the moment he first met her.

In early July 2018, they welcomed their first child, Cooper Jameson Kupp, and who knows? It could turn out that he’s the fourth generation of the Kupps in the National Football League.
