On October 20, at 7:27 a.m., the Nevada State Police responded to a crash at Washoe Mile Marker 3 on State Route 447 (SR 447) in Washoe County, Nevada.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a pick up truck was traveling southbound on SR 447 when, for unknown reasons, it drove off the road to the right onto the dirt shoulder. The truck then re-entered the roadway before crossing through the northbound lane, onto the inside dirt shoulder and overturned.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Reno named Gary Cisco, was transported to a hospital where he ultimately died of his injuries from the crash.

This crash marked the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol — Northern Command West's 40th fatal crash, resulting in 46 fatalities this year.
