Piilani Highway has been closed at Nuu Bay until further notice after heavy rains in the area flooded Nuu Gulch and made the roadway unsafe to pass, the county said shortly before 4 p.m. Monday.
The road closure is located about 12 miles southwest of Kaupo Store.
Drivers should heed all road closure signs in Hana town and near Bully’s Burgers in Kanaio, the county said. All visitors should enter and return from Hana by way of Paia.
The Department of Public Works Highways Division will announce when Piilani Highway is reopened.
