Life with Chester Bennington
Samantha Marie Olit was the first wife of the late Chester Bennington. At the time of their meeting, which took place in 1996, Chester was still an unknown musician, singing in clubs and playing local shows. The two met when he was part of the Gray Daze bank. As a member of this band, they made three albums, but none of them were hits. The same year the two met was the same year they tied the knot st October 1996 and it was a quiet affair.In the early years of their marriage, Bennington struggled to get his career off the ground and almost gave up music altogether. But everything turned around when he was called to California to audition for the group Xero, later known as Linkin Park. The audition was successful and the whole family, including Samantha, moved to California.
While in California, the two had their first and only child together, Draven Sebastian, whom he welcomed in the sixth year of their marriage in 2002 on April 19th . By this point, Bennington’s career was on a steady rise while his marriage to Marie Olit was suffering from his newfound fame coupled with his addiction and drug abuse.
The turning point in the marriage came in 2005 when the two filed for divorce. Their split became public knowledge because of Bennington’s fame.
Life after Bennington
Samantha has retained her relevance in the music industry, as well as Chester’s surname. She started a record label – SAM Records – and was asked to be part of a South African band called The Narrow. Olit was recognized for her help and support for emerging artists.
In terms of her love life, the only other person she is romantically involved with is a man named AJ Williamwood. It is not known when the two started dating or if they are still together.
Olit is worth an estimated $2 million and is an active user of social media sites Instagram and Twitter.
