Taylor Lorenz was called a "hypocrite" for doxxing the developer of "Libs of TikTok." Taylor Lorenz, the online culture beat reporter for the Washington Post, has been accused of "doxxing" the anonymous lady behind the popular Twitter account "Libs of TikTok."

Lorenz, a former New York Times journalist who broke down in tears on MSNBC earlier this month when recalling internet "abuse," released an article on Tuesday revealing the identity of the social media user. The act of posting personal information of persons who prefer to remain anonymous is referred to as "doxing."
After it was stated that Lorenz came up at the home of the woman's relatives to ask inquiries, some accused her of hypocrisy. The "Libs of TikTok" account, which has over 662,500 followers and broadcasts TikTok videos from liberals, shared a photo of Lorenz outside the home of one of her relatives.
“Which of my relatives did you enjoy harassing the most at their homes yesterday?” reads the text next to a photo of a woman who looks like Lorenz.

What Did Taylor Lorenz Do?
Lorenz tweeted to defend her decision to divulge the woman's identity: “Reporters make phone calls, send messages, show up places, and knock on doors when reporting out a story.” Lorenz continued, “I reported this story out extensively, using every tool I had, to ensure I had the correct woman.”

In response to accusations that she attacked an anonymous citizen on social media, Lorenz tweeted that the user "isn't just some regular woman with a social media account," but rather a "strong influencer operating a highly effective right-wing media molding debate around LGBTQ+ rights."
