WTTW TV Channel
The principal Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member tv network licensed to Chicago, Illinois, is WTTW, virtual channel 11. Along with the three stations, WTTW controls and manages The Chicago Production Center, a video production and editing facility. The call letters WTTW were picked because the station's founders wanted it to be Chicago's "Window To The World." Following a gift of an equity stake from Renée Crown's family, Window to the World Communications designated the programming grounds for WTTW and WFMT-FM as the Renée Crown Public Media Center on April 15, 2014.

WTTW TV Schedule
WTTW is one of two PBS member stations representing the Chicago market (channel 56). WTTW has always been a leader in a variety of technical aspects of public broadcasting, most notably broadcast audio delivery. The station, in particular, was a part of the early 1970s television pattern of pop song programs. Engineers at WTTW chose to alter existing recorders to offer a stereo medium that matched the video element of the show. In 1973, the station's personnel received a local Technical Emmy Award for their creativity.
