XXXTentacion was a controversial young rapper hip-hop singer and American songwriter who faced violence despite being genuinely talented. He had a very short career before he was assassinated in June 2018 and, like Tupac Shakur, whom he once credited as his inspiration, his songs were also released posthumously, peaking on the music charts and on the media after his death billboards. XXXTentacion’s Biography
XXXTentacion was born Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy in January 23, 1998 to Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy Sr. and Cleopatra Bernard. He had 3 siblings; an older sister Arianna Drew Onfroy and younger brother Aiden Onfroy. His other sibling was a half-sibling from his father. He spent most of his childhood with his mother and grandmother because his father was in and out of prisons.
The young star is said to have had a mixed ancestry of Egyptian, Indian, German, Jamaican and Italian and he was also an American citizen. Onfroy had his education at Margate Middle School and Piper High School, but he was rusted out of school in his 10th grade after getting into a fight.

The rapper’s musical career officially began in June 2013 with the release of his first single News / Herd following his release from juvenile prison. He and Stokeley Clevon Goulbourne became fast friends and Clevon was nicknamed Ski Mask the Slump God. They started doing freestyle raps together and made songs that became Extended Plays (EPs).
XXXTentacion became very popular on Sound-Cloud where he released most of his works in small nuggets and EPs. He later dropped his first single Vice City and followed it up with an EP titled Der Herbst on November 21, 2014. That same year, a collaboration song titled Members Only 1 in which he introduced his friend Slump God was also released with a band released. 2 in 2015.
His musical style was a very unconventional hip hop mix of songs mixed with heavy guitar and instrument sounds. His fame grew after he released his song Look At Me which was certified platinum in August 2017 and peaked at #2 on the US Billboard.Additionally, he kept dropping his EPs on the SoundCloud while working as a customer service representative for a company. Unable to mix the two, he had to quit his job to fully focus on his music career. In 2016, barely 3 years after leaving juvenile prison, he was arrested again on robbery, gunplay, battery (his then-girlfriend), witness tampering, and other charges.
This delayed the release of his first album Bad Vibes forever . When he was jailed and later released in April 2017, record labels came to sign him on their labels after the single Look at Me 2017 saw a massive outburst, and XXXTentacion chose Empire Records.
He continued his first national and promotional tour for his song Revenge, a tour that ended badly as it was marred by violence, including the shooting of the rapper’s cousin in June 2017. The song Revenge in May 2017 with its 4th Mixtape Hit the Floor Members Only Volume 3.
His first album 17 Finally Fallen in August 2017 and there were songs like Rache , Fick die Liebe and Rette mich among others that were such a huge hit, it sold well over 86,000 units in its first week of release and the 7-track album climbed with its also hit #2 on the Billboards 200 with its unique blend of sounds to help fuel the wave.
He announced through social media in November 2017 that he was serving a house arrest sentence and released three albums which he would release in 2018. He then released another EP titled A Ghetto Christmas Carol in December 2017.
XXXTentacion has been embroiled in several controversies in his life and career. He’s feuded with a few other artists, one of whom is his close friend Ski Mask the Slum God, including Drake (whom he called out for using the same rap flows in his KMT song).
His music video of him holding a white child in an upside-down lynch position was questioned, although he deleted the video a few months later from his very active YouTube channel, which had a massive traffic of 13 million views and subscribers. He defended the scene by saying that not only black people matter, but all lives.

The 5ft 6in tall American rapper was reportedly in a romantic relationship with American model Indya Marie, although their relationship only lasted a month in 2017. After that, he is said to have flown alone until he was violently torn from planet Earth.
He was formerly in a romantic relationship withGeneva Ayala. Over the course of their relationship, Geneva told Ayala that he was very abusive, both physically and verbally. She claimed he broke her eye sockets and jaws, but she refused to testify against him in court after receiving massive threats from his fans and family members. She was reportedly pregnant for the rapper at the time of the battery, which didn’t stop him from causing her so much pain.
Assassination and death of XXXTentacion
XXXTentacion Onfroy was boarding a motorcycle dealership on June 18, 2018 at Riva Motorsports Motorcycle in Deerfield Beach, Florida, believed to be conducting business when he was approached outside the dealership by two armed assailants who exited a Black Dodge at approximately 3:55 p.m After a brief struggle, the men shot him multiple times and cleared away with a bag said to have contained about $50,000 in cash.
Although he was being cared for by paramedics and being treated at Broward Health North Hospital in Deerfield Beach, he was officially pronounced dead by the Sheriff’s Office at 5:30 p.m.
22-year-old Dedrick Devonshay Williams and 3 others (Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen and Trayvon Newsome) have been apprehended by police in connection with his murder. They were all charged with first-degree murder. However, the attack was ruled unpremeditated and they avoided the death penalty.
He was buried in a grave in the garden of Boca Raton,Memorial Park, Florida, following his June 27, 2018 memorial service at the BB&T Center Florida, where many of his fans and peers gathered to pay tribute to the late rising hip-hop star to show the last respect. In attendance were rappers like Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty, among others.
His beneficiaries were mother Cleopatra Bernard and his brother Aiden. However, his ex-girlfriend and unborn child were excluded from it.
